I am a certified Family Law Specialist retired from 20 years on the bench of the State of California, Superior Court of Contra Costa County where I presided over thousands of child custody, child and spousal support, marital property division, paternity, and family violence cases. I am admitted to the bars of New York, California and Maryland and actively practice in both New York and California.

My CONSULTATION SERVICE affords attorneys an opportunity where I meet with them and their client, listen carefully to the client's concerns and offer a realistic assessment of likely litigation outcomes.

I also serve as a Private Judge offering case management, judicial settlement conferences, mediation and consultation services and judgment preparation.

I have served on both the California Judicial Council Advisory Committees on Family and Juvenile Law and Family Law Education and have extensive experience teaching judges family law through the California Center for Judicial Education & Research (CJER), the B.E. Witkin Judicial College and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. I co-authored the Rutter Group’s California Practice Guide on Family Law Forms and wrote the curriculum for the Children, Families & the Law Program at John F. Kennedy College of Law. I taught Family Law and Jurisprudence at John F. Kennedy College of Law in Pleasant Valley, California and Family Law Alternate Dispute Resolution at Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco. A partial list of classes and presentations may be found within.

My goal in this work is to provide attorneys and their clients an alternative to the standard court process with the ability to focus on their case, identify the underlying conflicts, listen carefully to the parties’ concerns and resolve their dispute in as quick and economic a fashion as possible.
